Playing Arrangements 2012-2013

Club Nights

Our first club night is at Godalming College on Monday 3rd September from 7.30pm. The playing arrangements for the A Section are similar to last year with club nights on Mondays and Fridays starting at 7:30pm and finishing by 10:30pm (10.00 on Monday) - as the College are responsible for locking the hall at the end of the evening.

The Senior group will continue to use 1 court on Fridays and the B Section will take 1 court on a Monday, with the junior club playing on Mondays before the main club session during term time. There are some dates in January when the college will be using the hall for exams. We will notify you of these dates shortly and try to make arrangements for some club nights to take place at another local hall. Nick Crossley is currently looking into this on behalf of the committee.

Match Nights

Wednesdays remain the main match night, although due to court availability some matches will be played on club nights. Where possible we will be arranging 2 matches on Wednesday, with 2 courts allocated per match. When matches are scheduled on club nights, we will make members aware of the match and the reduced number of courts available, but the club night will still be open to members. The start time of matches is 7:30pm so we need to arrive promptly to ensure we finish by the 10:30pm locking up time!

Juniors

Christine and Doug will continue to run junior sessions on Mondays between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. If you would be prepared to help, or know someone that can, we would be very grateful if you would let us know as soon as possible.

Membership Fees

At the AGM held on 2 May, it was agreed that:
– A section membership fees should increase from £165 to £170
– B section fees would be £87
– Seniors’ fees remain at £87
– Concessions (juniors/students in full time education) remain at £50
– Match fees remain £6 for Surrey and Guildford League matches - and £3 for juniors/students.
The subscriptions and match fees for the new season are also shown on the attachment.

Teams

We will be running the same teams as last season with Ladies 1 and 2, Mens 1 and 2, Mixed 1 and 2 in the Surrey leagues; and Mens in the Guildford league. Copies of the match fixtures’ list will be available as soon as all the match dates have been finalised.

Other stuff

If you know a player who might be interested in joining or just visiting, please encourage him/her to come along to a club night and pass on their details to Christine or me and / or send them a copy of this letter.
